Dr. Leila Mekacher is the CEO of the tech company Innoversa Factory GmbH and the founder of the social enterprise Innoversa gUG. She is a passionate engineer, entrepreneur, and internationally certified autism specialist. In addition, she serves as Head of Digital Research and Innovation and founded the Technological Education Center at the SRH Vocational Training Center. A committed STEM ambassador, she lectures at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University, the University of the Federal Employment Agency in Mannheim, and the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria in Linz.
Dr. Mekacher holds a degree in electrical and automation engineering and earned her PhD in robotics and software engineering. Her work focuses on immersive technologies—such as virtual and mixed reality—and gamification to enhance digital education, foster inclusive work environments, and promote accessibility.
Through Innoversa, she develops cutting-edge educational tools, including VR escape rooms, AI-generated media, interactive 360° VR experiences, and VR simulators for vocational training and career orientation.
Driven by a strong commitment to inclusion, Dr. Mekacher supports individuals on the autism spectrum by involving them in research, development, and real-world industry projects. She also creates XR-based training tools that build on their strengths—empowering them to succeed in future-oriented tech careers.
